Full Bio –

Leanne Regalla is a performing songwriter with a fun and unconventional approach to life & music. She brings her thoughtful, humorous perspectives to her writing and performances. Her colorful lyrics will surprise you and her memorable melodies will have you humming her songs to yourself long after the show.

Her sound has been compared to Mary Chapin Carpenter, Natalie Merchant and Jewel, with a snarkiness reminiscent of Sara Bareilles or Alanis Morissette.

Leanne’s music and stories are funny, inspiring, and thought-provoking all at the same time.  They are influenced by her own life experiences as a musician, writer, and teacher. “If you enjoy my songs and laugh even a little, I’ve done my job. If you come away feeling inspired to pursue your own dreams, whatever they are and whatever your constraints may be – then I’ve definitely achieved my goal. If you come back and bring friends to share the experience then I am truly humbled and appreciative,” Leanne says.

And if you friend her on Facebook, she promises to make you laugh!

“Reluctant Rockstar” (2011) is Leanne’s first full-length original CD. The title is a tongue-in-cheek reference to the hesitation and doubts that many artists have about getting their work out into the world in a big way. The CD includes 7 songs penned by Leanne herself, including one instrumental, and one original written by local songwriter Bob Banerjee. The overall tone is upbeat and fun, with a couple touching and very relatable ballads thrown in.

Leanne’s original music also appears on a compilation project that she completed with 13 other very talented musicians and writers from around the world. “Under The Same Sky” (2008) is a tribute to the shared goals that unite people from very different backgrounds in one common and very cool musical project.

Ms. Regalla is a musical entrepreneur – she has owned and managed a teaching and performance studio since 2004. In 2009, Leanne stepped back a bit from her demanding business and lesson schedule in order to focus on her solo career. The shift in priorities has served her well. She now appears regularly at local acoustic venues, festivals, and fundraisers. She has performed at the Zanafest Music Festival, the Octoberfest Street Festival in Ambridge and Apple Fest in Baden, PA. Leanne also showcases regularly in Nashville for Tom Jackson’s “All Roads Lead To The Stage” Bootcamp for singers and bands.

Leanne helps fellow artists, teachers, entrepreneurs, and aspiring musicians of all ages to achieve their goals and to constantly learn and grow – on both career and personal levels. She owns Livin’ Out Loud Music, an online instructional and career resource site, as well as Amazing Cool Music in Coraopolis, PA where she teaches guitar, songwriting, and performance. Leanne is very excited to be the first teacher in the area to offer Live Music Producer Tom Jackson’s “All Roads Lead to the Stage” curriculum.

Ms. Regalla is also a Pro Faculty Member of Indie Connect, a Nashville-based nationwide organization that provides educational resources and connections to help independent musicians build sustainable careers.
